If working lean means taking the "waste" out of activities then removing paper from the process is not only a lean approach but a "green" approach to better manufacturing. Paperless implies computerization of the production process which should include inlcude job (part)optimization, factory floor system (operational level) control and asset and labor effectiveness (OEE).
